YogaFit's Restorative Yoga provides a unique opportunity for exploring and deepening the mind/body connection. Restorative Yoga is a profoundly healing form of yoga that is quickly gaining popularity with both yoga teachers and students. It can be taught entirely as a restorative class, a few poses blended into a yoga class, or merged into a flow class in any ratio that is appropriate for the teacher and students. This training will equip you to confidently teach any of these scenarios in both group and private class settings.
Restorative yoga as a practice is defined as yoga poses completely supported by props, thus releasing the body to rest in them for longer periods to receive deeper benefits derived from the poses, and encouraging the body's innate healing.
Fully supported, passive poses induce a deep state of relaxation, a seed for meditation. In addition, the poses awaken dull areas of the body to improve circulation and encourage healing. Restorative poses can be powerfully beneficial to bring about awareness of muscular and respiratory holding patterns.
The 4-day training covers:
- Basic and advanced restorative poses
- Thematic class planning and sequencing
- Breathing techniques
- Specific prescriptions to address particular challenges
- Presentation styles optimal for Restorative
- Teaching practice in pairs, solo, and groups
- Integrating Restorative in your teaching practice
- Integrating your yoga knowledge with Restorative
- Props use in active flow classes to aid/deepen poses
